Step-by-step guide to give access to your developer or partner, like Target Integration<\/p>\n

If you’re working with a new partner or developer (like Target Integration), they may need access to your GitHub repository to manage or update your software.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s exactly how to do that – even if you\u2019re not technical.<\/p>\n

Step 1: Log in to GitHub<\/h3>\n

Go to www.github.com<\/a> and log into your account.<\/p>\n

Click on the project (repository) you want to share.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Go to the settings<\/h3>\n

Once you\u2019re in the project, look at the top of the page.<\/p>\n

Click the tab that says \u201cSettings\u201d (usually on the far right).<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t see it, make sure you\u2019re the owner of the project or have admin rights.<\/em><\/p>\n

Step 3: Manage Access<\/h3>\n

On the left-hand menu, click \u201cCollaborators\u201d or \u201cManage Access\u201d.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Add the New User<\/h3>\n

Click the \u201cInvite a collaborator\u201d button.<\/p>\n

A box will pop up. In it, type the GitHub username of the person you want to add \u2014 for example, your contact from Target Integration.<\/p>\n

Step 5: Choose Access Level<\/h3>\n

GitHub will ask how much access to give:<\/p>\n

Read<\/strong> \u2013 just view things (not usually enough for developers).
\nWrite<\/strong> \u2013 can make changes (often recommended).
\nAdmin<\/strong> \u2013 full control (for trusted partners like Target Integration).<\/p>\n

Target Integration can do the most effective support for your Odoo installation once you give us “Admin” level access. <\/em><\/p>\n

Step 6: Send the Invite<\/h3>\n

Click the invite button.<\/p>\n

The person will get an email from GitHub to accept the invitation.<\/p>\n

Once they accept it, they\u2019ll have access and can start working on your project right away.<\/p>\n

BTW, if you are hosted on Odoo.sh you still need to give access to Odoo.sh project separately as well. Follow the steps given in this article in order to provide access to the Target Integration team.<\/p>\n
