The Digital Gap Is Real and It Is Getting Wider<\/h2>\n

Earlier this year, the UK Government published its AI Adoption Research through the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. The headline finding was striking only 16% of UK businesses are currently using AI, and 80% have no plans to adopt it at all. The OECD followed in February with its own data, showing that just 10.6% of European manufacturing enterprises have adopted AI placing manufacturing among the least digitally advanced sectors in the economy.<\/p>\n

We work with manufacturers and food and drink businesses every day. These numbers are not a surprise to us, but they are a reminder of the scale of the opportunity and the risk of standing still.<\/p>\n

The barriers the reports identify are the same ones we hear in conversations with business owners week in, week out: uncertainty about where to start, concern about the cost, and questions about whether the return on investment will be there. Those are fair concerns. They are also exactly the kinds of questions we are good at helping people think through.<\/p>\n
