{"id":1161,"date":"2013-02-23T10:44:58","date_gmt":"2013-02-23T10:44:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.knowledgement.ie\/?p=1161"},"modified":"2013-02-23T10:44:58","modified_gmt":"2013-02-23T10:44:58","slug":"create-quotations-and-sales-orders-in-openerp-v7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_ie\/create-quotations-and-sales-orders-in-openerp-v7\/","title":{"rendered":"Create Quotations And Sales Orders in OpenERP v7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Hello everyone, in this blog we will go through how to create Quotations and Sales Orders<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In OpenERP7, Quotations and Orders are handled by the same Object, but in different states.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">You can consider an Order to be a Quotation that has &#8216;evolved&#8217;, in the same way as a Lead becomes an Opportunity, because it has been confirmed by the customer; or, conversely, a Quotation is an Order that hasn\u2019t yet been validated or cancelled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">To begin, go to &#8216;Sales&#8217;, then &#8216;Quotation&#8217;. You should now see the Quotation home screen as below:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_ie\/general\/quotationsandsalesorders\/attachment\/untitled-10\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1162\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1162 aligncenter\" alt=\"quotations_and_salesorders 1\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Untitled7.jpg\" width=\"624\" height=\"307\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">There are different ways of viewing Quotations, such as List View, Form View, Calendar View, and Graph View.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">To create a Quotation, you can click on the &#8216;Create&#8217;, or &#8216;Import&#8217; button. The example below shows fields that are already filled after clicking on the &#8216;Create&#8217; button:<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_ie\/general\/quotationsandsalesorders\/attachment\/untitled-11\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1163\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1163 aligncenter\" alt=\"quotations_and_salesorders 2\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Untitled8.jpg\" width=\"624\" height=\"301\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Then, click on &#8216;Save&#8217; &#8211; you will now see this quotation has been added in your Quotations home screen &#8211; from here, you can perform the next step, which is sending this by email.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Sales Quotes allows a prospective buyer to see what costs would be involved for the Services, or Products offered &#8211; this can help them in make the final decision on whether to purchase or not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">When considering the information provided on a quote, not only is the price important, it is also recommended to look at how the information is presented; the idea being to show the quality and professionalism within your company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_ie\/general\/quotationsandsalesorders\/attachment\/untitled-12\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1164\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1164 aligncenter\" alt=\"quotations_and_salesorders 3\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Untitled9.jpg\" width=\"710\" height=\"207\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Below Quotations, there is &#8216;Sales Order&#8217; (sometimes abbreviated as SO).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">This is an order issued between the business and the customer. A Sales Order may be for Products and \/or Services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The Sales Order home screen is shown below &#8211; this allows you to create and import in the same way as we went through earlier with Quotations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_ie\/general\/quotationsandsalesorders\/attachment\/untitled-13\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1165\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1165 aligncenter\" alt=\"quotations_and_salesorders 4\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Untitled10.jpg\" width=\"624\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Next, we use the\u00a0following:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Click on &#8216;Sales Orders&#8217;, then &#8216;Create&#8217; &#8211; \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Select the customer by choosing them from the drop-down list, or type the beginning of the Customer Name, should the list be too long:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_ie\/general\/quotationsandsalesorders\/attachment\/untitled-14\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1166\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1166 aligncenter\" alt=\"quotations_and_salesorders 5\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Untitled11.jpg\" width=\"624\" height=\"290\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using &#8216;Add Items&#8217;, add the required Line Items (or Products);<\/p>\n<p>When you are finished, click &#8216;Save&#8217;:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_ie\/general\/quotationsandsalesorders\/attachment\/untitled-15\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1167\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1167 aligncenter\" alt=\"quotations_and_salesorders 6\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Untitled12.jpg\" width=\"624\" height=\"296\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the example below, we added an additional comment in this particular order &#8211; with this example, there is a lot of communication between us and the customer, so we are using the Discussion feature on this step to further clarify a point with the customer &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>We enter our comment in the Discussion panel:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_ie\/general\/quotationsandsalesorders\/attachment\/untitled-16\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1168\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1168 aligncenter\" alt=\"quotations_and_salesorders 7\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Untitled13.jpg\" width=\"624\" height=\"302\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Then, simply click on &#8216;Save&#8217;;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This comment can then be seen by the customer, and they will be able to notify you of any further clarifications, or queries for follow-up:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_ie\/general\/quotationsandsalesorders\/attachment\/untitled-17\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1169\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
