{"id":2475,"date":"2013-05-02T07:20:44","date_gmt":"2013-05-02T07:20:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.knowledgement.ie\/?p=1173"},"modified":"2024-01-09T05:12:06","modified_gmt":"2024-01-09T05:12:06","slug":"service-contracts-and-faq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_in\/service-contracts-and-faq\/","title":{"rendered":"Work out for Service Contracts and FAQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this blog, we&#8217;ll go through the sections on Service Contracts, and the FAQ.<\/p>\n<p>Firstly, we shall break down\u00a0the\u00a0terminology\u00a0around Service Contracts &#8211; below, you will see the start screen for this module:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_in\/general\/service_contracts_and_faq\/attachment\/load-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1175\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1175 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/load1.jpg\" alt=\"FAQ _service_1\" width=\"624\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A service contract is recommended to maintain a healthy trading relationship with the client. It will also help define what is &#8216;off-contract&#8217;, or out of scope between you and the customer.<\/p>\n<p>The Service Contracts module can track both Support, and Service agreements.<\/p>\n<p>We shall start off by creating a contract &#8211; this can be done either manually, or by import &#8211; let&#8217;s go through the manual entry process:<\/p>\n<p>Click on the plus &#8216;+&#8217; button, and then start filling the required fields as necessary;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_in\/general\/service_contracts_and_faq\/attachment\/load\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1176\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1176 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/load.jpg\" alt=\"FAQ _service_2\" width=\"624\" height=\"280\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lets explain some of the definitions of the fields you will encounter:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related to<\/strong>\u00a0: Allows you to relate the record to a contact or organization;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start Date \/\u00a0Due Date<\/strong>\u00a0: When the service begins \/ ends, defining the duration of the service period;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Total Units<\/strong>\u00a0: Allocates the specific number of units (time for services, units for consumables, etc).<\/p>\n<p>Once you are done, click on &#8216;Save&#8217;;<\/p>\n<p>This shot gives you a quick view of the Services Contracts detail view screen, where you can edit, duplicate or delete entries as required:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_in\/general\/service_contracts_and_faq\/attachment\/load-3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1178\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1178 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/load2.jpg\" alt=\"FAQ _service_3\" width=\"624\" height=\"262\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here, we can see the record added in your List View:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_in\/general\/service_contracts_and_faq\/attachment\/load-4\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1179\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1179 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/load3.jpg\" alt=\"FAQ _service_4\" width=\"624\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next, we shall go through the FAQ (or, Knowledge Base) module:<\/p>\n<p>We are all used to the term &#8216;FAQ&#8217;, but let us re-visit it, and look at what it actually does;<\/p>\n<p>FAQs (by definition &#8216;Frequently Asked Questions&#8217;) refer to a list of helpful points, based in a format of a question, and answer to said question.<\/p>\n<p>Each question added to your module should be one that is frequently asked in some context, and pertains to a particular issue; certain functionality in your business processes that normally are queried upon first encounter by end users \/ customers are ideally covered in your FAQ section.<\/p>\n<p>Here, we can see the\u00a0FAQ home screen. You can access this by going through &#8216;Support&#8217;, to the &#8216;FAQ&#8217; menu.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_in\/general\/service_contracts_and_faq\/attachment\/load-5\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1181\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1181 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/load4.jpg\" alt=\"FAQ _service_5\" width=\"624\" height=\"238\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As mentioned, you can use this section as a knowledge base to inform your customers about your products, services or procedures; or for your service staff to define processes for helping customers, and so on;<\/p>\n<p>Clicking on the plus &#8216;+&#8217; sign, you are then prompted to enter a question, and an answer for it. In addition, you may link this entry to a product, or service your company offers, allowing easy navigation into, and out of, individual questions;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/en_in\/general\/service_contracts_and_faq\/attachment\/load-6\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1182\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1182 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/targetintegration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/load5.jpg\" alt=\"FAQ _service_6\" width=\"624\" height=\"242\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A FAQ will be shown in the Knowledge Base once the Status is set as \u201cPublished\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A documented issue, such as a Trouble Ticket, can also be converted to a FAQ.
